(Honours)
Teaching Staff: Dr. Sasha Alexander, Ms. Karen Yevenes, Mr. Jean Payette, Mr. James Berry, Mr. Mauricio Novoa, Mr. Chris Nash
The Bachelor of Industrial Design (Honours) is a four-year program with specialisations that build significant support for the final year research thesis and applied design research project in creating new contributions to the body of knowledge in innovation, systems thinking, design thinking, and social innovation.
The Design Research pathway central to Honours is developed to meet the demands of industry and academia in creating new contributions to the body of knowledge in innovation, systems thinking, design thinking, and social innovation.
The curriculum offers structured and self-directed learning across standard class formats, studio-based, blended online and experiential Work Integrated Learning with focus on advanced design research methods drawn from industry-based design practice providing graduates with multi-directional employment pathways.
Level Bicycle - 4th year Honours project - Tyran Lechner
Australian Good Design Award Winner 2018
The Level bike project is the first bicycle to integrate electronically controlled adjustable geometry into bicycle frame design. Using electromechanical actuation the system reads the current terrain and changes the bicycles geometry to the most efficient position from ascending winding trails to rough, high-speed steep downhill terrain.
